Not too surprised....
This morning Jack and Daddy were watching TV while I was making breakfast in the kitchen. Mike had put the puppy out on her tie out and she was barking to come in. Jack started watching her out the window and finally shook his finger at her and yelled out "NO NO PUPPY, DON'T PISS THE HOUSE!" :-O Mike came running in to tell me and actually blamed me! LOL he's the one who always says (when he brings the puppy in) "don't piss my house". I can't stand the word and only use it if I'm very mad! LOL
We really, really need to watch what we are saying now Dad!
I've been saying over and over now "no puppy, don't pee in my house" so Jack will catch on to that instead!

Our Anniversary

Well, it's been six years. I can't believe we made it that long but at the same time I don't see how we wouldn't. Mike brought home flowers and a card which made me very happy. Now I need to do something for him since yesterday was such a blur of *busy* I wasn't able to. The pic I've added is one my Aunt made for our family page and we look like a couple of geeks in the second one. LOL

LOL

Ok, help me out here because I just don't understand. Sunday night I woke up around 2:30 am because I heard a loud CRACK BANG! I got up and went to the window thinking "WTF?" but saw nothing but darkness and all was quiet. At first I thought someone was trying to break into our vehicles since the sound was so loud but then figured I was nuts and went back to bed. In the morning when I took Micah to work I realized what had happened. There our poor mailbox was all bashed in for the third time this year. In the pic, Mike had already pounded it back into shape so it isn't as beat up as it was when I first saw it. LOL I don't see how this is fun to teens? Driving by someone's mail box and hitting it with a bat or 2x4? Micah and I talked and laughed about it on the way to her work and when I pulled back in the driveway Jack pipes up "MAILBOX BROKE!" I guess he listens to everything we talk about. :o)

Last year when our mailbox got bashed we fixed it and three days later they did it again. Then we had to buy this new one which just isn't new anymore! Stupid bored teens!

Dormers

It took Mike the entire day yesterday to install one dormer and it still isn't finished. The boys and I helped him get the pieces up there and then he was on his own. I'm surprised he didn't fall off the roof and break his neck the way he was walking around on it! He's a bit nuts.

Now he has the other one to install and then shingles, siding and putting in the windows. A lot of work and money! (Much cheaper than paying someone else to do it though!)

Our new room should be finished by the end of summer.

Line Up

Jack's new thing is lining things up. No matter what it is, if there are more than two if it, Jack will line them up all in a row. One day he had a line of cars and trucks going from one living room, all the way through the kitchen and into the other living room. I left them out for Daddy to see and he thought it was pretty funny.

Here he was lining up Riley's crayons and having a good time with it!

Special Person Day

Today was "Special Person Day" at Colby's school. I got to go for lunch and to see all the things they're learning about healthy food. I was impressed and we had a nice time! On the way out we stopped in at the book fair and Colby and Jack each picked out a book and some pencils etc.

Then, I asked Colby to show me something he made and we'd take a picture of him by it and there it is, a pepper! :o)

Fetching Rooster!

Remember the cute little chick I blogged about before? The biggest one and she was just adorable? Well look at *her* now. A fetching rooster! I'm not for sure but in using what I've read and learned on how to tell a rooster from a hen, this definitely is one. He acts just like Boss did, like a mean SOB to all the other chicks, running around pecking them and being first to eat and drink etc. (typical man!) He's pretty funny to watch but I don't have room for more roosters so eventually, he'll have to go. :o( Unless of course, he gets along with the head honcho Rico and his sidekick Kip. Then he can stay!

Mom
Here is a nice pic of my Mom and Step-Dad that Lexi took while they were here for Easter. :o)
I'm so glad we invited them and they were able to come.
Right now I'm very worried. My Mom had complications from the first surgery and is having a second surgery to correct the problem. My Step-Dad says he'll call me if I need to jump on a plane and head to Utah so everytime the phone rings I panic. :o( I don't want to get the call that she didn't make it.

Mom

I found out this morning that my Mom had a massive stroke and needed surgery right away. She pulled through so far but things aren't looking so good. I've never been so worried! She and I have had our differences of opinion in the past and she is a very hard person to get along with at times but she is my Mother and I love her. My brother has cut off ties with her and for quite some time Mike has wished I would do the same. I cannot. I will only have one Mother and I will stick with her through thick and thin. I may have to gripe and complain sometimes and keep a sense of humor but all's good as I'm sure she has to do the same with me!

I really don't want to lose her and hope she can get back to as close to her normal self as possible. All day I've been remembering my childhood and what a great Mom she was, always cooking, baking and making sure we had the best of everything. :o) I have many great memories of when I was a little girl.....something may have happened along the way to make her bitter and unhappy and I can't judge her for that. I hope things turn out ok.

Tractor

I just had to get a pic of my nerdy husband thinking he's a bad ass on his new tractor. I haven't tried it out yet and am letting him have his digging fun. Next weekend though, if the weather is nice I will mow the yard with it and enjoy every minute of it. :o)

Puppy

Here is a picture of our new puppy. :o) We are horrible and buy pets like they're going out of style! This is it for us though. No pig or goat for me for a long time! We still haven't decided on a name since Mike gets to name her and he won't decide. Jack says her name is Puppy. :o)

Mike CAN be nice!

I had been noticing a few of my chicks were limping a bit and just didn't look too good. :o( I asked for advice on my chicken group and was told maybe they need more area to run around in. (The dishwasher box I had them in just wasn't cuttin' it anymore!) I worried all day long since I had no clue what to put them in that was bigger and they're still too young to go out in the coop. I went to Home Depot and browsed thinking I could build something....yeah right! Then I bought some chicken wire and hoped Mike would help me make something. Of course he went a little overboard and made them a chicken mansion but now they're so happy! When I first put them in they were cautious but then started running around and flapping their wings and having a dandy old time!

I appreciate times like this when Mike helps me out and doesn't complain. It took him only 45 minutes to build that for me! :o)
Uh oh though, I did notice one chick was struttin' his stuff just a little too much for my liking....meaning I just may have another rooster to deal with soon! :-O I just recognize that strut! LOL

A Boy and His Wagon

Jack really loves the wagon Grandma Violet got him for Christmas. He likes to pull it around everywhere rather than riding in it. If he's bored all I have to say is "do you want to go outside and play with your wagon?" and he high tails it out the door! :o)

Colby's B-day

We celebrated Colby's birthday yesterday and it was a nice day! Grandma Violet and Aunt Jen came out with a cake and some gifts and we ordered pizza and played outside etc. Grandma always does a great job with cakes and remembered that Colby likes Monkeys so made him a cute monkey cake. I can't believe he's 10 years old already!

New Tractor/Mower

I am very excited to be getting our new tractor. The mower has about bit the dust since it's really too small to take care of our yard and we need something bigger. I think Mike went a little overboard on what he picked out but I won't complain since it will probably mow the yard in half the time without the belt breaking, breaking down, choking on grass etc. Plus I can have a garden THIS year and wasn't planning on that. :o)
