Rainy Day

What is there for 3 boys to do on a rainy day? Play with playdoh of course!

Jack was so bored last night I decided to make some Kool aid playdoh like I used to do for Riley and Colby when they were little. Jack had never played with playdoh before but Riley and Colby showed him how and he loved it. :o) I had to watch him though because if I turned my back he'd go around the kitchen *decorating* things with the lovely green playdoh....he put nice dots on the sliding glass door and he smashed some on the rungs of his chair etc. At least he had an hour of uninterupted fun! Then there were Riley and Colby who certainly didn't argue with me when I asked them to play with Jack....I had to pry them away from it when it was bedtime!

These chickies......

are GROWING and fast! Here is a pic of the largest one and Jack. He likes me to bring them in one at a time so he can pet them and love on them. :o) They still spook easily but are doing very well! They are just starting to go through their "ugly" phase, where all the fluff leaves and the feathers come in. We still think they're cute though!

Yay for Boca Ground Burger!

Well, I've been without beef, pork or chicken for a month and feel just fine and dandy about it. I knew I would miss certain things made with ground beef so did an experiment last night. I make a taco type salad called Frito Stack that we all adore and wondered if I used my Boca stuff if it would work and taste just as good. Well, I made one pan up for Mike and the kids with regular ground beef and a smaller pan with my Boca ground burger and put both on the table for dinner, telling the kids which one was the "fake" meat. They all helped themselves to the real meat and I had mine and it was so delicious! I didn't realize it but Riley had come late to the table and since he was sitting by me got a nice generous helping from my pan and ate the whole thing without me even knowing. I started telling Mike I could barely even taste a difference and that it was very good when Riley looked a bit surprised and said "I didn't know that pan had your kind in it, I just had that one and didn't even know until you told Mike that." I asked him if it was every bit as good as the regular and he said "yes! I didn't even know!" LOL guess I can make it with that from now on for everyone! Riley is my bud and loves most things I love so I wasn't surprised....he loves things like soy milk and sauerkraut etc. while the other kids turn up their noses. They don't know what they're missing!

Naughty Jack

Today Jack was watching Diego like normal and happy as can be so I thought I'd look for a recipe online. He had changed the channel on accident so I went in there to fix it for him and noticed he was holding a check. I took it from him and said "what's this?" and he rubbed his tummy and said "MMMMM!" Apparently he had gotten my wallet and took out the $50. check my Dad sent me for my birthday and chewed the end off it! I couldn't help but laugh even though I was looking forward to buying myself something nice. I showed him the check again later and asked him where the rest of it was and he grabbed my hand and led me to a spit wad on the floor and again said "MMMMM!" He makes me laugh everyday. The kids and I have a term we use called "Jack's cute of the day". I tell them the one cute thing he does everyday while they are at school and they like hearing it! Today's was a good one. :o)

Mike and his surprises

We had an interesting Easter to say the least. I was having a horrible time until Mike surprised me with a birthday cake and his Mother gave me a gift. :o) Mike can be the biggest meanie but he always tries to surprise me with things and I really like that he does that!

Jack LOVES cake and figured it was his and that everyone was singing happy birthday to him. Then he helped me blow out the candles. :o)

Chickies

I am happy that I have my new chickies! I only got 7 so hope they all make it. I could just sit downstairs and play with them all day but can't because life calls!

This picture is one of the chicks that has real pretty markings. :o) I had to hold her a bit tight because she is a jumper.

Colby's Haircut

Colby finally allowed me to give him a haircut after looking like Bobby Brady for quite some time. He was trying to grow out his hair to look cool like some kid at his school but he has way too much curl and it was flipping everywhere. Today he came home and said all the kids are getting buzzed and would I please do his? I practically RAN for my clippers and scissors! Here are his before and after pics. LOL I tried to get him to stand in the same position, in the same spot. He looks like a whole new kid!!! He said he was going to go to school today and tell his teacher "I'm the new kid where do I sit?" :o)

No fooling Jack!

Jack and I had gone grocery shopping and were on our way home. I try so hard to time these things just right so he falls asleep on the drive home and I don't have to battle with him to take his nap. We were just about there but he wasn't fully asleep.....head nodding and eyes drooping but needed a few more minutes. I turned right instead of left (right by our house) planning on driving up the road until he was out, then turning around and coming back. As soon as I turned right Jack popped wide awake and said "NO MAMA I HOME, I HOME!" Guess I can't fool him that way anymore!

I still won anyway. LOL he went straight for the couch and when I was done bringing in the groceries this is what I found. (above pic) :o)
